Julesburg Saturday Results

Another nice turn out of 21 cars at the Tri State Hot Rod Revival!
Special thanks to Cole Shaffer and Joel Petri from University Auto Parts for providing a $500 NAPA Tool &Equipment tool cart to the racer who won the most rounds over the weekend! Thanks to Will Rogers and Jeff Raynor from NAPA for making that happen as well. You guys rock!
It was an electric atmosphere in Julesburg this weekend. So many cool hot rods……if you didn’t come out you missed out. This event gets bigger and bigger and our group was front and center!
Race results :
Ron Cuda Kissner beat Karl the helmet Oser in a chrome on your bumper finish. Then Daryl the wedge hammer Dinkle took out Brandon charmed life Caldwell…..
In the final match up of our final 6 Mike checkered past Rogers and his big inch Chevy knocked out newcomer and veteran racer Craig Brown.
Then Mike battled Daryl for the right to meet Ron Kissner in the final. Daryl was money all weekend and put Mike and his bowtie back on the trailer.
That set up an all MOPAR final. We had 14 Fords and not one made the final! That was the bloodiest Ford day since Edsel told Henry the Model T was obsolete! 🙂
Dayrl, returning to last year’s form was on point again beating Ron and sending bride Cori in to a 12″ vertical leap!
Dayrl got the win, the trophy, the check and a hug from Cori.
It was the battle of the Junction boys and it was an epic final. Congrats to Ron and Dayrl for providing us with a thrilling final!!

Julesburg Sunday Results

A beautiful day awaited us Sunday for the second race at the Tri State Hot Rod Revival.
Right out of the gate Mike Rogers and his Malibu were awarded a cool trophy as the Colorado Hot Rod Association picked his car as the best grassroots racer of the weekend. Congrats Mike!!
Another highlight of our Sunday race was Bart out of Sterling CO joining us with his Ronnie Sox tribute Cuda…..a real beauty and plenty fast. He and Ken Godsey battled in qualifying setting up a Ronnie Sox tribute race that was so good I parked my car for that qualifier just to watch! Great show Ken!
Once again we had 21 cars as we lost 2 from Saturday (hang in there Jim Norris) but picked up 2 as well.
Sunday Results :
Corey Flyboy Gray battled Joel Major Shaker Pitre in a classic Comet vs Fairlane, small block battle. Corey fought hard but fell by a fender to Joel.
Then Daryl Dinkle still dealing a hot hand sent Mike McCallum back to Grand Junction! Wowzers!
That win by Daryl also won him the NAPA tool cart for most rounds won over the weekend.
In the third match up of the final six veteran Roy Whittemore and his gorgeous and fast Thunderbolt took on the Great White Fairlane.
In a desperate move Roy bump drafted me but fell to the mighty shark. Roy said something about his tranny wouldn’t grab second but what I heard was gee Brad you kicked my arse! 🙂
So then…..Shaffer and Great White have to battle en fuego Daryl and the Wedge Hammer for the right to race Joel in the final.
Much to everyone’s surprise (especially my own) the old guy breaks Dayrls win streak and heads to the final against his son in law Joel….a little awkward. Lol!
Did I mention it was an all Ford final……redemption! (GM guys? Buehler?)
The disrespectful kid served up his pop in law on a plate winning his first race ever! Congrats Joel you did it man!
All in all…..an awesome weekend.
Off to Bandimere!
Thanks to all who attended!
